Notes at Noon: Brewers

Little bit after noon, but good enough. Some notes about the Brewers regarding the FA market.
  • GM Doug Melvin has said that the Brew Crew are not going after Derek Lowe. I never heard that they were, so I don't know why they needed to squash that rumor. Lowe would be a good fit in Milwaukee though, so it may not have been a bad idea.
  • From the same article, Melvin also said that the Brewers are not going after Mark Mulder. The Brewers may be pursuing Braden Looper and Oliver Perez, and could bring Ben Sheets back into the fold.
  • The Brewers are also restarting talks with closer Trevor Hoffman about a job. The Dodgers also have interest in the future Hall of Famer.
